Largo's parks and cultural destinations form several clusters rather than one continuous recreation district. Central Park and the nearby nature preserve have similar names but different addresses. Farther away, Florida Botanical Gardens and Heritage Village share the Pinewood Cultural Park campus. Walsingham Park adds a lake-centered destination with entrances from two roads. Separating those settings first makes it much easier to choose a starting point for a day of gardens, history, or outdoor activity.
Central Park and the preserve are distinct
Largo Central Park is listed in the city's recreation catalog at 101 Central Park Drive. The municipal park map places the library, playground, Military Court of Honor, and historical feed store within the surrounding civic-park setting. East Bay Drive and Seminole Boulevard provide larger road references around this cluster.
The nature preserve uses 150 Highland Avenue SE. The official tourism bureau describes boardwalks, paved paths, a small lake, wooded sections, and an overlook tower there. Those features give it a different emphasis from the developed civic park. The shared words in the two names indicate a local relationship, but they should not replace the actual destination address.
The distinction matters when comparing an event visit with a nature walk. A gathering near the library or civic park belongs to the Central Park Drive setting. A walk among the preserve's boardwalks belongs to the Highland Avenue approach. Keeping both markers on the map prevents a familiar park name from masking two separate arrival locations.
A campus for plants and local history
Florida Botanical Gardens lists two parking addresses: 12520 Ulmerton Road and 12211 Walsingham Road. The supporting foundation identifies the gardens as part of the larger Pinewood Cultural Park campus, alongside Heritage Village. This gives the destination two useful road references rather than one universally correct parking approach.
The garden landscape includes formal planting areas and native habitat. Its Majeed Discovery Garden adds a dedicated children's setting with sensory planting, nature play, and an outdoor classroom. These are different experiences within the same garden property, so a visit can be organized around a particular section rather than attempting to treat the entire campus as a single stop.
For a map of Largo, Ulmerton and Walsingham roads explain how this cultural campus sits within the wider street network. The parking addresses refer to access from different sides. They do not identify two unrelated botanical gardens, and neither should be confused with the similarly named county park across Walsingham Road.
Heritage Village's building address and group approach
Heritage Village is listed by Pinellas County at 11909 125th Street. Its historical buildings and exhibits interpret the county's past, making it a distinct attraction even though it shares the broader campus with the gardens. A garden visit concerns plant collections and landscape spaces; a village visit concerns preserved buildings and historical interpretation.
The village's group-visit instructions use the parking lot at 12211 Walsingham Road, just east of the village. From there, participants cross a footbridge to the historical grounds. This is a specific organized-group approach, not evidence that the published 125th Street address is wrong.
This arrangement is particularly useful to understand when planning a Largo history outing with several people arriving separately. The attraction's name, its building address, and the instructed meeting approach answer different questions. The footbridge also explains the physical connection between the parking area and the village, rather than leaving visitors to infer it from adjacent property outlines.
Walsingham Park around the lake
Walsingham Park has entrances on Walsingham Road and 102nd Avenue North. Pinellas County's park diagram places these on opposite sides of the property, with a large lake between the surrounding recreational areas. Its published street address is 12615 102nd Avenue, while the northern road remains a separate valid approach.
The park includes a shared-use trail, boat ramp, fishing facilities, picnic shelters, a playground, and a dog park. The county diagram numbers the shelters and shows their relationship to parking and the lake. For a picnic or gathering, that shelter number provides a more useful final destination than the general park name alone.
The Walsingham Road entrance is also the reference used in Heritage Village's group-parking directions: the village lot is across the road from that park entrance. This creates a clear local relationship while preserving the boundary between two different destinations. One belongs to the cultural campus; the other leads into a large lake park.
Largo's map is most useful when it keeps these distinctions intact. Central Park Drive and Highland Avenue separate the civic park from the preserve; Ulmerton and Walsingham roads organize garden access; the village has its own historical setting and group approach; and Walsingham Park spreads around a lake between two entrances. Those concrete relationships turn a collection of similar park labels into a workable plan for exploring the area.
